THE JOURNEY

The journey series was painted following a period in which Nadia had many vivid dreams of worlds with luminous landscapes that emit light, rather than reflect it. The same shapes would appear again and again. This drew her to explore the work of the remowned psychologist Jung both on dreams and symbols.

Jung believed that certain shapes had universal meaning and were powerful healing tools in the road to self-actualization. Different shapes either stimulate or relax, create the impression of speed or stillness. The Journey is one exploring such symbols by imbedding them in a physical journey through landscape.
