SACRED EARTH

This photo collage series explores dreamtime and the idea that at a deep level we are all interconnected – humans, animals, plants and mineral. It also explores the notion that the past, present and future all exist side-by-side in a different vibration of the ‘matrix’, the cross-connected environment we all inhabit.

As a child in Egypt Nadia used to “hear” the past taking place in some areas around Giza. She would often wonder if there were parallel events occuring around her as though different time “frequencies” were bleeding through to the present.

Sacred earth is entirely lens based. Photographic images are “chopped-up”, fragmented, often in unrecognisable ways and used as a palate for colour, texture and sometimes form. This creates the sense of the surreal but with a photographic reality.
